EGE, spol. s r.o. places a great emphasis on the right process setting in the fields of quality, environment and occupational health and safety. The company management perceives and responds to the changes in the business environment, customer´s requirements, assesses the risks and, based on this, adapts the strategic planning and company policy. The principles of the policy are observed not only within the company but also externally when choosing suppliers, subcontractors and regarding the approach to customers.
Management of all processes in the company is based on the established management systems to the extent of requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. The certification according to the stated standards guarantees functioning processes and has been successfully renewed since 1994. Production of steel structures is further linked with the compliance with EN 1090-1,2 (design and production of steel structures) and EN ISO 3834-2 (welding of steel and aluminium). The established systems are regularly reviewed not only by internal control mechanisms but also by external independent parties or the customers themselves.
Given the growing competitive pressure, a large number of suppliers and new production technologies, quality assurance plays a significant role. The quality assurance system thus enters all the processes, including business, technical development, technical preparation, purchase, storage, production, post-warranty service etc. One of the main indicators of quality management is product quality. It is monitored and evaluated by the Quality Department. Both the management of the company and mainly the relevant employees at all levels are informed about the development of the product quality. Measures maintaining resp. improving product quality are taken constantly. The measures are based on the objectives of the company and long-term trends. We have monitored the development of customer satisfaction and we have processed information on the recent development in the markets within the field of quality management. We try to improve the quality of our products by introducing new technologies and technical development.
Consistent environmental management is an integral part of all our activities in EGE and the scale of impact on the environment is considered as part of the life cycle of our products. Compliance with all legal requirements is taken for granted, however, EGE adopts even stricter requirements of some standards beyond the legislation. The assessment of environmental aspects (risks) is a key basis for the objectives and programmes of the company. For the aspects, whose level of environmental impact is the highest, the priority is given in searching for solutions which lower the impact or eliminate it completely. E.g. all solid-fuel or liquid heat generators were gradually taken out, more effective filtration systems for separating volatile organic compounds at coating plants were installed and older machine tools using substances dangerous for the environment for cooling were replaced. The storage and handling of substances dangerous for the environment (colours, thinners, oils) require safety measures (collection tanks, sinks etc.), awareness (about the potential impact) and emergency preparedness. Also within the product design and material purchase, we constantly look for environment-friendly equivalents. There is a priority to prevent the generation of waste (according to the law on waste) and its recycling in the field of waste management. 80% of the whole waste generation is recyclable waste (metals, wood). The awareness of the employees and the high level of waste sorting is an integral part of our culture. Careful use of resources and measures reducing energy consumption are implemented through training and awareness of the employees, and also within the investment development of the company.
Occupational health and safety (OHS)
The management system of OHS is based on the requirements of legally binding legislation and requirements of ISO standards. The permanent search for risks and development of new technologies enable to eliminate negative impacts of the activities in the company on human health. Making personnel aware of the risks, equipping with protective equipment, system of training and work instructions for each post are an integral part of the OHS system. Compliance with safety measures is regularly supervised. Within all production facilities in the company, there are colour coded places reserved for particular activities (pedestrian zones, posts, emergency exits, first aid rooms, fire fighting devices). Each site has its trained specialists for providing first aid and the company disposes of defibrillators. Union representatives and representatives from particular units regularly comment on the OHS matters. There is zero tolerance for alcohol, nicotine and addictive substances at the workplace of the company. The management of the company is regularly informed on OHS development and considers occupational safety as one of the main priorities.
